Résumé en français
Introduction: In 2021, the french wealth authority "Haute Autorité de Santé" made a new recommendation allowing the target audience for HPV vaccination to be extended to young boys aged between 11 and 19. Until then, it was reserved for girls. The main objective will be to assess the acceptability of parents to this new measure. Material and method: A standardized questionnaire was completed by 205 voluntary participants at the drugstore in Cugnaux. Results: 59 % of the parents of young boys are favorable for vaccinating their boys. 51% want to make it compulsory regardless of gender. The study shows a lack of knowledge of the virus and of the vaccination program. Mothers are more willing to vaccinate their sons than fathers. Discussion: The Covid epidemic seems to have taken over the launch of the vaccine campaign. Considerable delay may result. Vaccination in schools, freedom of speech on sexuality, education of fathers, introduction of compulsory consultation at 11 years old and training of general practitioners are so many options to be studied to increase vaccination coverage. Conclusion: Despite an increase in vaccination approval, France is far behind in terms of vaccination coverage compared to other developed countries. An effective promotion and information strategy for the general population is essential in order to meet the national objectives of the Cancer 2030 plan.
